To prevent any infection the only way is to prevent contact. There is no vaccine for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), so protecting yourself and your family is vital. COVID-19 is transmitted through close contact with an infected human. Respiratory droplets from coughs and sneezes can enter or be inhaled in your mouth or nose.
Here are steps you can take to help prevent illness.
Enable only those who have an urgent need to be in your home.
Find the patient a separate bedroom and bathroom if possible. Keep others isolated in your home to prevent exposure.
Consider using disposable items such as plates, glasses, cups, and utensils. Avoid towel sharing and bed sheets. Wash them thoroughly after the patient uses these items.
Clean these areas/ surfaces with a household cleaning spray every day.
Wash sheets and towels with blood, vomit, or bodily fluids on them immediately. Wear disposable gloves, and keep away from your body soiled objects.
